AFRICAN AGRIBUSINESS PLATFORM

DESIGNED TO CREATE REAL IMPACT AND FACILITATE CROSS-FERTILISATION OF IDEAS

Driven by an urgent need for a more holistic perspective on the development of agribusiness in Africa, the African AgriBusiness Platform (AABP) has been convened by some of Africa’s most influential stakeholders in the African agribusiness, food, rural development and related sectors. AABP is a neutral, inclusive, private sector-driven, platform and addresses the fact that single events cannot adequately address Africa’s agricultural, rural and socio-economic development issues. By taking a holistic, multi-partner, cross-sectoral approach, AABP’s mission is to create a broad-based event that will change the way that food is produced, processed, stored, and distributed in Africa.

Cross-sectoral interaction

The Platform brings together, through a structured meeting programme, many diverse agriculture-related groups – each following its own agenda but also engaging with other groups to identify common interests, new lines of research, complimentary technologies and potential disruptive solutions. Outputs, will include a wide spectrum of cross-sectoral cooperation agreements, reports and work programmes.

A process, rather than just an event!

The African AgriBusiness Platform provides an opportunity for all interested parties to get involved in a co-ordinated process that will contribute to the re-shaping of the African agribusiness landscape through the alignment and support of agricultural programmes, projects and initiatives that are aimed at scaling up the sustainable development and growth of the agribusiness & food sector in Africa.
